Peru Expands Luxury Tourism in Asia and Oceania Through Exclusive Immersive Programs Showcasing Culture, Nature, and High-End Experiences for Affluent Travelers

Peru is intensifying its efforts to attract high-spending travelers from Asia and Oceania by launching exclusive immersive programs that highlight the country’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and premium experiences. These initiatives aim to give international travel agents firsthand exposure to Peru’s iconic destinations, including the Andes, the Amazon, and historic cities, enabling them to design luxury travel packages tailored to affluent tourists seeking unique, personalized, and culturally immersive journeys.

Travel agents from China and India toured Lima, Cusco, and the Loreto region, engaging in activities that highlighted Peru’s historical and culinary treasures. They sampled world-class cuisine, visited iconic Inca sites, and experienced the Amazon rainforest through upscale river cruises. These immersive programs gave agents a first-hand understanding of the country’s unique combination of cultural, historical, and natural attractions, reinforcing its appeal for affluent travelers seeking distinctive experiences.

In a similar initiative, Australian travel agents participated in a familiarization program from late November to early December, exploring Lima, Cusco, and Madre de Dios. This effort aligns with a wider collaboration between an international media organization and a global travel agency, which will officially launch in early 2026. The partnership aims to highlight international destinations to the Australian market through purpose-driven luxury travel, with Peru being one of the priority destinations in a carefully curated selection of experiences.

This initiative forms part of Peru’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in key Asian and Oceanian tourism markets. By targeting visitors with high purchasing power, the country aims to boost tourism revenues while promoting sustainable, culturally immersive travel experiences. Travelers from China, India, and Australia are particularly drawn to personalized, culturally rich, and nature-based travel, making these markets strategically important for Peru’s international tourism objectives.

Tourism trends indicate growing interest from these regions. Data from November 2025 shows an 18.7% increase in arrivals from China, India, and Australia compared to the same period in 2024. This rise highlights a growing demand for destinations that offer authenticity, luxury, and meaningful experiences. By providing agents with direct exposure to Peru’s offerings, the country ensures that travel packages for these markets meet the high expectations of modern luxury travelers.

Key highlights of the trips included the Peruvian Amazon, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, and Lima, all of which demonstrate the country’s blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty. Culinary experiences also played a central role, introducing agents to Peru’s celebrated gastronomy, which has gained global recognition for its creativity and diversity. These elements collectively reinforce Peru’s position as a premier destination for travelers seeking luxury, adventure, and cultural depth.

By facilitating these immersive programs, Peru strengthens its visibility and credibility among international travel professionals. Agents leave with practical knowledge and experiences that enable them to craft travel packages tailored to affluent tourists, driving increased arrivals and tourism spending. The initiative reflects Peru’s commitment to offering sustainable, high-quality, and culturally engaging tourism experiences that cater to international markets.

Through these strategic efforts, Peru continues to build its reputation as a top-tier destination for luxury tourism. With growing interest from Asia and Oceania, the country is set to attract an increasing number of travelers seeking personalized, unforgettable journeys, further cementing its status on the global tourism stage.
